We strive to be inclusive and open in our decision-making and environmentally sustainable in our actions. Our studio practice is located in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood, however, we are also available for remote and on-site work.

CONSERVATION + RESTORATION

STABILIZING MATERIALS AND MITIGATING UNINTENDED CHANGES

When found to be safe and appropriate, we can treat the following:

Traditional and contemporary works of art on paper
Archival materials
Maps, architectural and technical drawings
Photographic materials
Modern materials (i.e. plastics) found in art, design or technical objects

A detailed proposal is submitted for approval before treatment, and all interventions are meticulously documented.

PRESERVATION MATTING + FRAMING

PROTECTION AND AESTHETICS

Using museum-quality materials and mounting techniques we can:

Hinge and mat two-dimensional objects.
Prepare sealed frame packages.
Retrofit historic and original artist frames.
Custom frame objects after treating them using a curated selection of commercial mouldings from manufacturers who share our concerns regarding environmental sustainability.

For custom-milled frames and large projects, we will gladly recommend skilled framers in the city.

COLLECTION MANAGEMENT + CARE

Assistance in acquiring and interpreting data with following techniques: polarized light microscopy (PLM), microfadeometry (MFT), x-ray fluorescence (XRF) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)
